Finished with numerous coats of lacquer and buffed to a warm deep finish, it is secured closed with a wood threaded flange and top.

This urn is made from Maple wood, an American favorite. Best known for syrup and displays of red, orange and yellow each fall, Maples grow throughout the Eastern and Central United States. Trees can reach 130 feet tall and the wood color varies from creamy white to grey to reddish-brown depending on the species. This piece exhibits decorative design in the wood as a result of the Ambrosia beetle. Appropriately referred to as Ambrosia Maple, this wood is highly sought after for wood turning.
