This piece is a Signature Series, Artistic Urns’ original urn. Born from a single piece of green wood, it has been transformed into a Work of Art. Every urn is a UNIQUE, One-Of-A-Kind piece. No two are alike - the shape, size and wood character will always differ.

A keepsake urn is any piece that measures less than full size in terms of internal capacity. Popular if the wishes are to scatter a portion and keep the rest, or when dividing the remains among different family members. Many families obtain a keepsake as a memorial for the home to remember their loved one after the remains have been interred or scattered.

The Signature Series features all of Artistic Urns “signature” trademarks

The original Signature Series, for When Ordinary Won’t Do!

This urn was turned from a piece of Southern Magnolia. This tree is native to the Southeastern United States and is symbolic of the American South. The flower was used as an emblem of the Confederate army in the US civil war. It thrives throughout the Gulf and South Atlantic states, and has attractive shiny green leaves and fragrant flowers. The Southern Magnolia is the state tree of Mississippi and the state flower of Mississippi and Louisiana. The sapwood is yellowish-white with light to dark brown heartwood tinted yellow or green.

This magnolia came from a giant tree that witnessed urban sprawl all around it while still being within eyesight of a piece of the past - a family farm refusing to relent to development.

This wood represents a bit of old and new. One of our regular wood sources referred a friend of theirs to contact us about this magnificent old magnolia before hauling it to the landfill, and behold a new relationship for Artistic Urns and new life for the wood was the result.
