This is a Collector’s Edition urn. Born from a single piece of wood, this started as a 40 pound block of green wood and has been transformed into a 2 pound Work of Art. This piece has the exact same design and build process as Artistic Urns original Signature Series - the only difference is there is more “Wow!” in the wood character.

The Collector’s Edition for When Ordinary Won’t Do!
This urn is made from Maple wood, an American favorite. Best known for syrup and displays of red, orange and yellow each fall, Maples grow throughout the Eastern and Central United States. Trees can reach 130 feet tall and the wood color varies from creamy white to grey to reddish-brown depending on the species. This piece exhibits decorative design in the wood as a result of the Ambrosia beetle. Appropriately referred to as Ambrosia Maple, this wood is highly sought after for wood turning.
This beautiful ambrosia maple wood we found in north Georgia perched on top of a wood pile stacked 40 feet in the air. The piece measured 5 feet in diameter, 16 feet in length and weighed over 4000 pounds. With a little patience and a little cash, we were able to convince the fellow operating the log loader to lift it off the stack and gently place it into the bed of our pickup truck. It made for a slow ride home, but worth every minute!
